Lessons from the Movie Stranger than Fiction, Live a life of quality

Quite by chance I was lucky enough to run across one of my favorite movies at a second hand store. Stranger Than Fiction is one of those movies that just works. Much like Groundhog Day this movie does not translate into conversation well, any attempt at explaining it seems to leave it sounding really “out there” which couldn’t really be further from the truth. Stranger than fiction’s message is so down here, at times you’ll feel like you’ve been kicked in the nuts by the pure child-like sincerity of it all.

Ok this is not a Stranger than Fiction review though so for those who have not watched Stranger Than Fiction I thoroughly recommend finding a copy of it, I’ve tried very hard not to spoil the movie so I’ve steered clear of spoilers as far as possible so if you haven’t seen it keep reading I’m pretty sure this won’t ruin it for you when you do finally watch it.

So if you’ve gone through the steps so far for collecting your clutter into Evernote then you’ll already be well on your way toward using Evernote for goal tracking . We started by collecting all our clutter and then we went about capturing it into Evernote. So if we’ve done everything correctly up until now we have a system filled with all the related information pertaining to our goals for the coming year, and we’ve stored it all in a trusted system.

Make a next action list

With all your information stored in one secure place, and your system set up to receive more information as you receive it. You can now start organizing your day to day affairs. Draw up a list of all the projects related to your goals that currently require your attention. So for example, if your goal is to lose weight, your first project might be to research methods of losing weight. What is the next action you have to take to move that project forward? You may make an appointment with a doctor, or spend time on the internet or go to the local bookstore. Whatever you choose, capture that next action into Evernote.

Please note I wrote this post last week before going off on my trip and started editing it this morning and realized it’s kind of impossible without changing the tone of the whole post so this post is kind of a time travel into last week with me.

Find Time to find meaning

So I’m hitting the road, and leaving my blog unattended for a few days, its been a long time coming but I’m really looking forward to this get away for more reasons than I care to share with you. The trip should be 229kms or 114 miles. After making my way through rush hour Johannesburg traffic I whip past due east of our countries capital, Pretoria , I’ll hit the country roads which the nice people on the internet promise me has stunning scenery, who can argue with alliteration like that.
